Meet the Cast

Evan Joiner as Gene Moonfeather

Evan Joiner graduated from Yale with a BA in Theater. At Yale, he appeared in Macbeth, Titus Andronicus, The Glory of Living, Caligula, The Woman In Black and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.

New York theater credits include Boiling Pot (FringeNYC), Play (Madair), Silence (At Hand), Last Light (Lively), Angelic Faces (TheaterVison/Playtime) and Pieces on the Board (Three Dollar Bill). Television and web credits included One Life To Live (ABC), The Really Real World (Stetson Productions), Streets and Avenues (Center Stage) and Brooklyn Is For Lovers (Zwak Productions).

He recently finished playing the young George Washington in a film to be released in mid-2009.

Derek Hirons as Gunther “Gunt” Moonfeather

Derek Hirons used to be an actor. He is pulled back into “the craft” from time to time by fiends with special projects.

Derek was most recently seen in the internet series “4 If By Space” by Doomed Human Productions. He is also a musician and a student, currently studying Audio Engineering.

Derek will undoubtedly continue acting on the side, even after he starts his new career.

Jen Jamula as Summer Macintosh

Jen Jamula hails from Reading, PA and earned her degree in Theater Studies from Yale University.

Her favorite performances to date include Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Théâtre Friches Urbain in Paris, Laura Bush in Tony Kushner’s Only We Who Guard The Mystery Shall Be Unhappy at Yale, and Claire in Paper Dolls as part of this summer’s New York International Fringe Festival.

The last two years have found Jen rediscovering her love for singing (she studies privately with Jane Olian and performs everything from Schumann to Kurt Weill to Joni Mitchell) and yoga (she’s practiced in NYC, Sedona, and Mexico). Understandably, the role of Summer in Days of Joy is close to her heart.

She is thrilled to finally be working on this jewel of a comedy.

Philip Emeott as Sandro

Played Lucien Julian in the web series The Really Real World. In 2008 he was nominated for a Perry Award for his lead performance in The Foreigner (Hudson Theatre Ensemble).

New York theater credits include: 365 Days/365 Plays (Public Theater, Boomerang Theatre Co.); A Butterfly on the Antenna (Havel Festival, U.S. premiere), featured in American Theatre; Kryptonite Hearts (Theater for the New City); Road to Nirvana, Of Mice and Men, Measure for Measure, King Lear (Oberon Theatre Ensemble); Rhinoceros (Novisi Productions); and Burning the Old Man (Boomerang) nominated for a NY Innovative Theater Award for supporting role.

Florida credits include: Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Picasso in Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Dr. Treves in The Elephant Man (Limelight Theatre). BA in Drama from Flagler College, FL.

Josh Manning as Tyler Jett

Josh Manning is a graduate of The William Esper Studio and Alumnus of The North Carolina School of the Arts School of Drama.

He can be seen in the Will Ferrell NASCAR Comedy, ‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’, where he plays Sacha Baron Cohen’s butler.

He is a professional commercial and voice over artist with credits including ‘Wrangler Blue Jeans’ and ‘The National Endowment for the Arts Big Read Program’. He also works on ‘All My Children’ and ‘As The World Turns’.

He is currently developing a television show about motorcycling and producing a film adapted from a published Noir short story by a Senior Editor at Newsweek.

Josh enjoys riding motorcycles and playing tennis.

Sadrina Johnson as Tanya Pendergast

The last time you saw Sadrina on your computer screen being black was in The Really Real World as LaShandra.

Primarily a stage actress, you may also have caught a glimpse of Sadrina in the New Yorker magazine for her performance in Southern Promises at Performance Space 122.

If you’re still drawing a blank, you may have seen her making meringue cookies on the HERE Arts Center stage in Life After Bush as our First Lady, Michelle Obama.

Other black roles to her credits include: Are Women Human? (Fresh Fruit Festival), You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Inside Broadway), The Neighbors, a reading through The New York Theatre Workshop (where she was in actual black face…redundant I know, but very pivotal to the story) and aboard the Freedom Train as Harriet Tubman (TheatreworksUSA).

Sam Ghosh as Salim Khan

Actor Sam Ghosh’s memorable film roles include his portrayal of a gay Sikh in Astoria Park, which won highest honors in numerous festivals, and Lord Krishna in Saving Hinduism which premiered at the Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival. He has also made numerous commercial appearances including a promo for Cheetos on Comedy Central and the Swiss company, Migros.

Sam has hosted the Asian Variety Show (AVS) on WMBC TV 63 among other entertainment and morning shows on television. His work in theatre includes Desipina’s Seven.11 Convenience Theater and Co-creator of The Daily Show Lizz Winstead’s Shoot The Messenger. After graduating from the Stevens Institute of Technology with a degree in Business and Technology, Sam trained extensively with Terry Knickerbocker at William Esper Studio.

Sam is also an accomplished filmmaker. His short film that he wrote and directed, Faith in a Wrapper, won Best Short Film in Boken Film Festival in 2005. His upcoming projects include the feature Anything For You; short films Last Son of Saddam, The Bomb Table, Dreamer, and Tomorrow; Extreme Reactions, a Lions Gate sketch comedy pilot; and a web series, Days of Joy! With Gene Moonfeather.

Jarel Davidow as Dr. Schizerfraud

Jarel has performed in theatres all over the country. His most recent project was playing Bela Lugosi in the Ellis Island production of “Taking a Chance on America – The Bela Lugosi Immigration Story”. He is a member of Oberon Theatre Ensemble and has played George in John Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men”; Lucentio in “Taming of the Shrew”; Lucio in “Measure for Measure”; Aden Paltz in Michael Weller’s “Ghosts on Fire” and Pastor Manders in Ibsen’s “Ghosts”.

Other NYC credits include Dr. Glass in “Room Service” and Machal in Vaclav Havel’s “The Increased Difficulty of Concentration” both at The Actors Studio directed by Arthur Storch. He also appeared as Yasha the Bonehead in the NYFringe hit “Three Sisters in Search of a Cherry Orchard” and as Gene in Richard Greenberg’s “The Author’s Voice”. Other favorite roles include Antipholous and Dromio of Syracuse in “Comedy of Errors”; Malvolio in “Twelfth Night” and Touchstone in “As You Like It” at The New England Shakespeare Festival (first folio unrehearsed productions); Bottom in “Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival; Christopher Wren in Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap” at Lake Worth Playhouse in Florida; Cockles in “Rip Van Winkle” at The Great American Melodrama in California; a national tour with The Shoestring Players, a children’s theatre company as well as Karl Lindner in “A Raisin in the Sun” and Ron Davis in “The Baby Dance” both for The AmeriCulture Arts Festival in Massachusetts.

Film: Independent features “Fillmore Lights”, “New Detroit”, “Fighting Irish” and “The Sunshine Deli and Grocery”.

Jarel can also be seen and heard in numerous commercials and voiceovers. He received his MFA from The Actors Studio at the New School (first graduating class) and is a lifetime member of The Actors Studio.

Alley Scott as Saffron Dugan

Alley Scott is excited to be part of this project. To prep, she hasn’t washed her hair in days and has developed a crush on her bearded yoga instructor.
