Root Chakra (rüt-chAkr-ah): related to instinct, security, survival and also to basic human potentiality. This centre is located in the region between the genitals and the anus.

Sacral Chakra (SAY-crel chAkr-ah): Located about two fingers below the naval ( stemming from the sacrum area of the spine), the sacral chakra governs the abdomen, genitals, lower back and the hips. Sexuality, emotions and creativity are the main issues pertaining to the sacral-how we handle emotional states, our desires, pleasure, movement, our sexual consciousness and preferences, and how we choose to express ourselves creatively.
